Dan Black and Martin Blum, who met while studying industrial design at Northumbria University, founded Black+Blum in 1998, based in London, one of the world's most diverse and creative cities.

The Binchotan charcoal water filter can be used in all their water bottles, although some, like the glass bottles, require the steel coil to ensure the charcoal doesn't move too much.

All of Black+Blum's bottle designs are unique to the brand, created from scratch in their London design studio. The Binchotan charcoal water filter, a centuries-old Japanese technique, is simple to use and long-lasting, with a total lifespan of 6 months. The activated charcoal filter attracts contaminant ions to its surface while releasing minerals like calcium, iron, and magnesium back into the water, providing healthy hydration.
